Pension check NRW
How much will the state add to your pension savings?
From 1 January 2027 there is the Altersvorsorgedepot, a state-supported pension savings account. If you pay in yourself, the state adds top-ups, and up to €300 a year extra for every child you get Kindergeld for. Work out here what that means for you. No sign-up, the calculator stores nothing.

Paid in after 10 years
Calculated without interest, price gains or losses, with the same contribution and the same number of children every year. Nobody can say in advance what the account will make of it.
Below €120 a year (€10 a month) there is no top-up.
You cannot pay in more than €6,840 a year (€570 a month). The calculator uses €6,840.
Calculated for one person with their own contract. The child top-up is paid once per child, to the parent it belongs to. Whether you are entitled at all, for example as an employee paying into the statutory pension or as a civil servant, is not checked here.
Top-ups under §§ 84 to 86 EStG, maximum contribution under § 1(1) no. 5 AltZertG, each as amended by the Altersvorsorgereformgesetz of 26 May 2026 (BGBl. 2026 I Nr. 156, published on 29 May 2026, recht.bund.de). As of 10/2026.
How the check calculates
- Basic top-up (§ 84 EStG): 50% on the first €360 a year, plus 25% on everything from €360.01 to €1,800. That is at most €540 a year.
- Child top-up (§ 85 EStG): for every child with Kindergeld, 100% of your contribution up to €1,800, at most €300 per child and year. The same contribution counts for every child.
- Starter bonus (§ 84 EStG): €200 once, if you are under 25 at the start of the year.
- Minimum own contribution (§ 86 EStG): top-ups start at an own contribution of €120 a year. Contributions above €1,800 a year get no top-up, and you cannot pay more than €6,840 a year into an Altersvorsorgedepot (§ 1(1) no. 5 AltZertG).

Important notes
- Advertisement. This page advertises the free appointment request. Buddi only passes the request on.
- Information, not investment advice. The check only calculates the state top-ups set by law. It recommends no product and does not replace advice. Buddi makes no promises about earnings.
- Top-ups under the Altersvorsorgereformgesetz, as of 10/2026. The basis is the law in the Federal Law Gazette (BGBl. 2026 I Nr. 156). Laws can change.
- Investments can lose value. How an account develops depends on the markets. That is why the calculator only shows what is paid in.
